->IWD2 Ease-of-Use

The Ease-Of-Use mod is collection of useful modlets and minor changes that make playing IWD2 more bearable.

Note: Some people regard many of these changes as cheats. All of the components are optional and may be installed separately. Use your own discretion. When you run the install utility you will be prompted to confirm the installation of each feature individually.

->IWD2 Bonus Merchant

This mod adds Ribald Barterman as a bonus merchant to IWD2. He sells equipment from BG2 in the same way that BG2 bonus merchants sell equipment from PST or IWD. The equipment is typically half-decent and vastly overpriced. Ribald appears in the Gallaway Trading Post and Conway's Smithy. Want more information (including an item list)? Check out the IWD2 Bonus Merchant documentation.

->Undead Targos Mod

The Undead Targos Mod changes the opening area in IWD2. The Town of Targos is now attacked by undead monsters (and some minor goblins). It is still designed for Level 1 Parties, but it is no longer a walk in the park. In addition, this mod allows you to complete the Targos fedex quests more rapidly. It's kinda light on innovative plot devices, but I was just playing around. Basically, this will make your next run through the otherwise-boring tutorial chapter slightly more exciting. In addition, it also includes a component that makes the final confrontation with Torak slightly more difficult (i.e., it gives Torak some half-orc spellcasters that work in concert to back him up). Want more information? Check out the Undead Targos documentation.

->Installing These Mods

Installation checklist and instructions:
  1. The instructions are the same for all of the mods listed here. You don't need to install all of them: just pick the mods you want.
  2. These mods work with or without the latest official IWD2 patch (currently 2.01). However, it is a good policy to install the official patch anyway. Install the official patch before you install any mods.
  3. These mods works with (or without) all other WeiDU mods. See the Solaufein installation instructions for details.
  4. Thes mods do not require IEEP or any other TeamBG utilities and they will not replace your existing DIALOG.TLK.
  5. Download the IWD2 Ease-of-Use Mod Collection (version v15, size is 384K)
  6. Download the IWD2 Bonus Merchant Mod (version v4, size is 379K)
  7. Download the Undead Targos Mod (version v6, size is 339K)
  8. Click here to Download the New Starting Parties Mod v1 (self-extracting EXE, 246K).
  9. The EXE file above is a WinRAR self-extracting archive. Run it, and in the Install to field put your IWD2 directory. That is normally: If you do not like self-extracting EXEs, you can get a normal RAR version.
  10. Run the newly-extracted Setup-Mod.EXE program that you will now find in your IWD2 directory. Choose your language and then choose which components to install. You may uninstall any or all of them later.
  11. You may run Setup-Mod.EXE again to uninstall any component that you have already installed.
